Our 25-part WordPress tutorial series is now complete and available in both English and Norwegian. It takes you through building a WordPress website from the first planning decisions through installation, design, performance, security, and the work that keeps it running after launch.
We wanted one place where a beginner could understand the pieces and build a working site, then return later when it’s time to update PHP, restore a backup, or track down an error.
What the series covers
A WordPress site depends on more than WordPress itself. Hosting, databases, themes, plugins, page builders, caching, and backups each have a job, and the opening guides explain how those pieces fit together before moving into the practical work.
The series is arranged in the same order as a real website project.
- Plan and set up your site. The opening tutorials explain how WordPress works, compare the available hosting routes, and take you through installation and the first dashboard settings to change.
- Build the pages. The design section covers Astra, the Gutenberg block editor, Elementor, headers and footers, and checking the finished layout on phones and tablets.
- Improve the finished site. Dedicated guides explain caching, Redis, image preparation, database cleanup, security plugins, backup tools, and the differences between Yoast and Rank Math.
- Keep it running. The final section covers practical backups, safe updates, PHP changes, finding the cause of a fault, and a repeatable WordPress cleanup routine.

Written around a real hosting setup
Our team built the tutorials while drawing on the same experience we use when helping customers through support. We explain the reasoning behind each step.
The tutorials use real WordPress installations and screenshots from the tools our hosting customers use on a daily basis, including Plesk, WordPress Toolkit, Softaculous, and AccelerateWP.
A ServeTheWorld customer can follow the steps on their own account, but if you host your site elsewhere, all tutorials are still relevant.
Guides for maintenance after launch
Once your pages are online, a WordPress site needs regular care. There are updates to be made, backups need checking, and old plugins or user accounts gradually collect in the dashboard.
The last five tutorials concentrate on those ongoing jobs. We cover backing up and restoring, and the WordPress update and PHP guides detail which checks to perform each time. Troubleshooting follows a repeatable process, and we close the series with a cleanup routine you can use a few times a year.
