Introduction to Our New Email Service

Table of Contents

On September 1st, we’re launching something new: a modern, privacy-focused email service powered by Open-Xchange — now available to existing customers ahead of public release.

This new service is built for users who want a more capable, reliable, and efficient email experience — one that works across devices, includes useful tools, and respects privacy from the ground up.

Why Open-Xchange?

You might not have heard the name — and that’s intentional. Open-Xchange is a white-label platform powering the email services of many national telecom providers, internet and hosting companies, universities, and governmental agencies — organisations that deliver email services to their own customers under different names.

At the same time, it powers the inboxes of freelancers, entrepreneurs, creative agencies, and SMBs worldwide — users who rely on it daily for professional and personal communication.

We believe Open-Xchange is the largest independent email technology provider globally, with around 220 million users served according to the company.

What makes it stand out is its European origin, its open-source foundation, and its commitment to privacy, clarity, and GDPR compliance. The entire platform is built and hosted in Europe, and offers an intuitive, highly integrated interface that works seamlessly in the browser and across mobile devices.

Depending on the plan, users also gain access to file sharing, document editing, and team collaboration tools — all designed to support everyday work without unnecessary clutter.

While it may not fully replace Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace in enterprise environments, it’s a well-designed and valuable option for many — with just the right feature set at a fair price, and without unnecessary complexity or vendor lock-in.

Why We Chose This Setup

This isn’t a shortcut — it’s a measured decision to focus on what we can do best.

While we have the infrastructure capacity to host such services ourselves, doing so would add significant complexity to how we provide support and manage upgrades. As a lean team, we believe long-term success means staying focused — on quality, on reliability, and on keeping our customers happy.

That’s why we’ve partnered directly with Open-Xchange to offer their Cloud App Suite platform as part of our lineup.

The service runs in Open-Xchange’s own data centers in Germany, maintained by their expert teams. Meanwhile, ServeTheWorld stays local, providing billing, guidance, and support — ensuring a smooth experience with human help when you need it.

This model allows us to deliver something solid and dependable — without compromising on data protection, service quality, or long-term viability.

What to Expect

The new email service comes with two straightforward plans, depending on how much you need. Whether you’re just looking for a better inbox, or need added tools for productivity and collaboration — it’s built to scale with you.

A 60-day trial is available, so you can explore the full experience before deciding.

If you are already using email through ServeTheWorld – whether via web hosting, specialized WordPress hosting, or Titan — you can continue doing so.

Yet we believe inboxes today deserve better than a basic setup, and this new service provides a consistent, fully featured experience. The 60-day trial gives you ample time to explore it in your own workflow and see whether it’s the right fit for you.

If you’re still reading — and still curious — we’ve put together another post that goes into more detail:
