Ubuntu 26.04 LTS – availability on our VPS platform

Table of Contents

Introduction

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS is expected to be released on April 23, 2026. We plan to provide templates from day one on third-generation GP3 VPS and VD1 VDS. We will announce availability in the user control panel once Ubuntu 26.04 LTS templates are available on the ordering pages.

This means you will be able to:

  • Deploy new virtual machines with Ubuntu 26.04
  • Reinstall existing VMs to the new release

Templates for dedicated servers and older generation VPS will follow later, once upstream images and templates are made and have been fully validated.

What to expect from Ubuntu 26.04 LTS

As a long-term support release, Ubuntu 26.04 brings a new baseline for stability and performance, including:

  • Linux kernel 7.0 and hardware enablement for modern platforms
  • Improvements to container and virtualization workflows
  • Support for PHP 8.5, PostgreSQL 18
  • Updated toolchains and system libraries for current workloads

Combined with our Proxmox VE + Ceph-based infrastructure, this provides a stable and predictable environment for both new deployments and upgrades.

Information for customers on earlier VPS generations

Ubuntu 26.04 will be available only on our third-generation GP3 VPS and VD1 VDS platform.

If you are currently running workloads on an earlier VPS generation, you can still upgrade your existing VMs directly using Ubuntu’s standard repositories. Moving to our third-generation platform is optional, but provides access to ready-to-deploy templates, along with higher performance and system availability.

We are happy to assist with planning or migration if needed.
